Multiple Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Amy Gledhill begins her Edinburgh run today with her brand new show ‘Make Me Look Fit on the Poster’

Amy Gledhill premieres her much anticipated new stand-up show 'Make Me Look Fit on the Poster' at the Edinburgh Festival this evening, Tuesday 13th August.  She will be performing every evening at Monkey Barrel Comedy until 25th August.

She promises 'a brand new show about self-confidence, romance and bin bags'.  This is Amy's first visit to the Festival since 2022 when she took the city by storm receiving 3 Edinburgh Comedy Award nominations with her show 'The Girl Before the Girl You Marry' and her Delightful Sausage show 'Nowt at Sea' with fellow comedian Chris Cantrill.

But fear not, for those unable to get to Edinburgh, she will then be taking the show on a massive 25-venue UK tour from mid-September until end of November, visiting venues across the country including in Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow, London and Bristol.  Tickets are on sale now

In a recent interview in The Scotsman she talks about the excitement she feels about her second major UK tour saying, "I’m excited to do that again because it’s really brilliant to go out to people who have booked to see you. A lot of my new show is about self esteem so it makes me feel really good about things. And I want to make everyone have a laugh and feel a bit better about themselves too".

She also talks about the name of the new show saying, "Comedians are getting hotter. They are. It used to be that comedians were outsiders and losers but now we’ve got these absolutely stunning and hilarious people and I think it’s a really great thing that we have so many really beautiful comedians because we want all perspectives and experiences in comedy, but also I don’t really know if I want to participate in that. It’s not really what I signed up for".  She goes on to say, "...a lot of the show is about trying to unpick my feelings towards my own self-esteem and where you fit in society and if it matters."
