'The Art of Illusion' opened this week at London's Hampstead Theatre. The new production stars Norah Lopez-Holden as Georges Méliès.
Alexis Michalik's play won three Molière Awards when it premiered in 2014 and tells the stories of three different ‘magicians’ from three different time periods: The first, Robert-Houdin, who revolutionised the art of magic in the 18th century; the second, Georges Méliès, one of the first filmmakers at the turn of the 20th Century; and the final, a petty thief named December in 1984.
