The first series of 'Magpie Murders' will be shown on BBC One on Saturday night. The series, which is based on the novel by Anthony Horowitz, was previously aired on Britbox but has now received a well deserved transfer to the bigger stage of the BBC.
The 'light and lively' adaptation sees editor Susan Ryeland (Lesley Manville) launch a one-woman investigation when one of her bestselling authors dies in suspicious circumstances, shortly after she received the unfinished manuscript of his new murder mystery novel. Her mission is not just to find out what happened to him, but also to locate the final chapter of his book.
Claire Rushbrook plays series regular Katie Williams, a lifelong friend of Susan's, with Sutara Gayle playing antiques shop owner Gemma Whiteley who appears throughout the series.
The 6-part series will be shown on Sunday nights on BBC One from this Saturday, 1st April, at 9.15pm. The series will also be available on BBC iPlayer. Watch the trailer.
Claire Rushbrook and Sutara Gayle are available for voiceovers from Anthea Represents. Click their images for their profile pages and voiceover showreels.
