Brand new drama 'The Day of the Jackal' premieres tonight, Thursday 7th November, at 9pm on Sky Atlantic. It stars Eddie Redmayne as the 'Jackal', a highly elusive lone assassin who meets his match in Bianca Pullman (played by Lashana Lynch), a tenacious British intelligence officer who is determined to track him down.
Laura Checkley has a major role in Episodes 1 & 3 playing Paddy Denham. There are 10 episodes in total.
The official synopsis promises us a "thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe, leaving destruction in its wake."
The series is based on the infamous novel by Frederick Forsyth, but many will know the story best from the acclaimed 1973 film adaptation which starred Edward Fox. The new series sees a modernised version of the story and also gives a more in depth portrait of the Jackal, giving him a family and a more sensitive side.
The first five episodes will air from 9pm tonight on Sky Atlantic, with the remaining five episodes to be aired weekly at 9pm on Thursdays. The series is available to stream in full on Sky Go and NOW.
Laura Checkley is available for voiceovers from Anthea Represents. Click her image for her profile page and voiceover showreel.
