After months of waiting the new series of Grantchester premieres tonight, Thursday 11th January, at 9pm on ITV1. Season 8 was released in the US last summer so fans in the UK have been waiting patiently to find out what is in store for Reverend Will Davenport (Tom Brittney), who married Bonnie (Charlotte Ritchie) at the end of the last series. Robson Green also returns as DI Geordie Keating who reunited with his estranged wife Cathy at the end of the last series.
Narinder Samra has a major role in the new series, guest starring as alcoholic ex-convict Keith Pruitt who we first meet in Episode One. He is a resident at a halfway house to help ex-convicts transition back into society, set up by Leonard, where Will holds a weekly ministry. However when Keith becomes threatening and belligerent, Will has to take matters into his own hands. As the series progresses we find out more about Keith (who was born in India as Sanjiv Joshi) and what has led him down the wrong path in life.
