Narinder is an award winning actor best known for his performance in the 2011 feature film ‘Land Gold Women’. The film received numerous nominations and awards on the International Film Festival circuit with Narinder winning Best Actor at the Reelheart International Film Festival, Toronto for his lead role. The film also won the Best Film in English at the prestigious National Film Awards of India. This was the UK's first film about the sensitive issue of honour killing from the perspective of the perpetrator (played by Narinder)
In 2024 had a major role playing alcoholic ex-convict Keith Pruitt in ITV's 8th series of 'Grantchester' as well as appearing as Dr Singh in ITV's edge-of-the-seat crime thriller series 'Passenger'. Later in 2024 he had a role in the BBC true-life drama series 'Kidnapped: The Chloë Ayling Story'.
In 2023 he appeared as a guest lead in Series 4 of the Acorn TV crime drama ‘London Kills’ which stars Sharon Small and in late 2021 he starred in multiple episodes of Amazon Prime’s epic fantasy drama ‘Wheel of Time’. In 2021 he also had a recurring guest role in BBC medical drama ‘Casualty’.
He can be seen in a number of high profile TV dramas including Series 8 of Channel 4’s ‘Homeland’, ‘Shadow and Bone’ on Netflix and the BBC’s ‘The Trial of Christine Keeler’. He also had a recurring role in Series One and Two of Channel 4’s RTS Award winning ‘Ackley Bridge’, as well as ITV’s ‘The Good Karma Hospital’ in 2017.
Narinder has been a BBC Radio Drama actor for many years, notably appearing in the acclaimed BBC Radio 4 production of Salman Rushdie's 'Midnight's Children' (2017). He also has documentary experience, narrating a documentary about the late great Sufi and Qawwali singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan entitled ‘A Voice From Heaven. He is also the voice of 'Stripes' in Netflix’s pre-school animation ‘Big Tree City’.
Narinder has a native West Midlands accent and speaks fluent Punjabi (native). He also has an accomplished northern accent (as heard in Ackley Bridge, set in Halifax, Yorkshire). He has dual British/American citizenship.
