Sharon Small has been nominated for a WhatsOnStage Award for her “terrific” (The Times) performance in Nye at the National Theatre earlier this year

This year's prestigious WhatsOnStage Awards were announced yesterday and include a well-deserved nomination for Sharon Small for her role earlier this year in Nye at the National Theatre.

She played Jennie Lee, the Scottish Labour MP who was married to Aneurin "Nye" Bevan, one of the leading lights in creating the welfare state and the NHS. She starred opposite Michael Sheen who played Nye.

★★★★ "Sharon Small is terrific in the role; it’s a shame we don’t see more of her." - The Times

Her nomination is for Best Supporting Performance in a Play, and comes off the back of a nomination for the same award in 2022 for her performance in 'Good' opposite David Tennant.

The Awards will take place on Sunday 9th February 2025 at the London Palladium. See the full list of nominees here
