NYE, a new play from Tim Price, premieres tonight at the National Theatre's Olivier Theatre on London's South Bank.
The play charts the life of Welsh Labour politician Aneurin 'Nye' Bevan, who is often referred to as the politician who had the greatest influence on our country without ever being Prime Minister. He is credited with transforming the Welfare State and creating the NHS.
Michael Sheen stars in the title role, with Sharon Small starring opposite him, playing his wife, Scottish MP Jennie Lee. She was a member of the Scottish Labour Party, who, when elected in 1929, became the youngest woman to serve in the House of Commons.
The play premieres tonight, Saturday 24th February and runs until 11th May when it transfers to Wales's Millennium Centre where it has a limited run from 18th May to 1st June.
