The brand new series of Netflix's hit dystopian drama 'Black Mirror' is available to stream from today, 10th April.
All 6 new episodes drop today with Siena Kelly playing the lead in Episode Two, entitled 'Bête Noire'.
She plays Maria, a high flying development executive at a chocolate company. When an old school friend, Verity, shows up as part of a focus group tasting session, Maria is the only one who notices there's something very odd about her. However her efforts to expose Verity fall on deaf ears and make Maria look like she's losing the plot.
The Guardian has selected 'Bête Noire' as its standout episode of the new series declaring "this year’s other standout demonstrates that Black Mirror hasn’t lost its demon streak...The cruel chaos smoothly ramps up, gradually revealing the twist before the narrative delivers an ending that will make you not laugh or chuckle, but very specifically cackle".
Siena was interviewed about her role for 1883 Magazine and talked about the episode and how much fun she had filming it, "Honestly, I had a blast. I haven’t seen the rest of the Black Mirror episodes, but I assume ours is probably the lighter, more fun one. It’s not too existential — I don’t think people are going to come away from it shaking about the state of humanity. I have a few friends who don’t watch Black Mirror because it’s too dark for them — they can’t shake it. And I do think that every season has one episode that’s just a little more light-hearted and silly — one that laughs at us a bit."
