Sọpẹ́ Dìrísù is the voice of Tabby McTat in the BBC’s TV adaptation of Julia Donaldson's much-loved children’s book of the same name

The BBC have just released the brand new trailer for their special Christmas animated film 'Tabby McTat'.  The heartwarming story of a busker and his cat is based on the much-loved children's book by Gruffalo author Julia Donaldson and illustrator Axel Scheffler.   This is the 11th animated special of their work produced by Magic Light Pictures for the BBC. 

Gangs of London star Sọpẹ́ Dìrísù is the voice of Tabby McTat.  He stars alongside Jodie Whittaker who is the narrator, Rob Brydon who plays Fred, as well as Joanna Scanlan, Cariad Lloyd and Susan Wokoma. 

The story is set on the streets of London and tells the tale of the wonderful friendship between a musical cat and a talented busker called Fred.

The film will be released over Christmas, but no specific date has yet been announced.  However the newly released trailer gives a sneak peek at what we can expect.
