In the final series of Peaky Blinders we will find out whether Billy Grade, played by Emmett J. Scanlan, was the one who betrayed the notorious leader of the Peaky Blinders, Tommy Shelby. In the finale of series five, Tommy's plan to assassinate fascist politician Oswald Mosley was sabotaged. Since then, fans have been asking who betrayed him, and many assume it was Billy.
Emmett J. Scanlan joined the cast of Peaky Blinders in Series 5 as former professional footballer Billy Grade, who was forced by the Peaky Blinders to join them to fix football games and horse races, despite his reluctance to do so. His mistreatment has led many to surmise that Billy had many reasons to betray the gang.
Emmett has remained tight-lipped about whether it was Billy who betrayed Tommy, but when interviewed recently he did say "hypothetically speaking, would you blame him if he did? They do force him, threaten him, manipulate him into doing their bidding. They do bully him psychologically and physically. So if he did, and I'm not saying he did, would you blame him?"
He went on to say that Series 6 is "f**king strong", adding, "it won't disappoint, I promise you".
The first episode of Series 6 will be broadcast on Sunday 27th February at 9pm on BBC One, and every consecutive Sunday for the next 5 weeks. Episodes will also be available on BBC iPlayer once they have been broadcast. Watch the trailer for the new series here.
