The BAFTA winning Detectorists returns to the BBC in a one off Christmas special on Boxing Day

The BBC's BAFTA winning comedy Detectorists is returning to our screens this Christmas in a one-off special.

The show is created by and stars McKenzie Crook as Andy alongside Toby Smith as Lance, a pair of oddball, middle aged metal detectorists, who are members the Danebury Metal Detecting Club (DMDC), hoping to make their fortune by finding buried treasures in the Essex countryside.

Laura Checkley returns in the Christmas special to reprise her role as Louise, a forthright and outspoken member of the DMDC.

The final series of the show concluded in 2017 so this is the first time in 5 years we will see the band of popular treasure hunters.

The feature length special sees Andy, Lance and the rest of the Danebury Metal Detecting Club unearth a precious relic to raise funds to prevent their meeting hall from being knocked down by developers. But Lance risks everything that's dear to him when he keeps quiet about a mysterious treasure he finds...

See the teaser trailer and tune in to BBC Two on Boxing Day at 9pm to watch.

Laura Checkley is available for voiceovers from Anthea Represents.  Click her image for her profile page and voiceover showreel.
