The second series of Kin, starring Emmett J. Scanlan, premieres in the UK on BBC One tonight

UK fans of Irish crime drama series Kin can at last watch the second series as it premieres tonight, Tuesday 13th February, at 10.40pm on BBC One with two back-to-back episodes.  The full series is also available to stream on BBC iPlayer.

Emmett J. Scanlan, who was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor IFTA for his portrayal of gang member Jimmy Kinsella, was on The One Show sofa tonight, alongside co-star Aidan Gillen.  Emmett talked about the show saying, "it's beautifully scribed... but it is heavy, it is dark and it is proper story driven, character driven".

Host Alex Jones joked that she'd been worried about meeting the star because of the character he plays, but teased, "You seem alright!

The new series of the 6-times IFTA-winning show sees the Kinsellas at the top of the crime game in Dublin, but facing a fresh enemy even more deadly than their last adversary.

He was also quizzed about the possibility of a third season, to which he responded, "while I thought it might have done well - the response has been ridiculous. And that can only serve well for the possibilities of a season three. The truth is I don't know, but we are hopeful."

Watch the trailer for the new series and stream it in full now on iPlayer.
