BBC Two comedy drama series based on the memoirs of Barney's Creative Director Simon Doonan.
The show, set in Reading in 1997, told the story of Doonan's childhood, as an effeminate 14-year old schoolboy and his dreams of moving to London, where thirteen-year-old Simon Doonan and his best friend Kylie dream of escaping their dreary suburban surroundings and moving to cosmopolitan London "to live amongst the beautiful people".
Starred Luke Ward-Wilkinson as Simon Doonan and Layton Williams as his best friend Kylie. Olivia Colman also starred as Simon's mother Debbie and Aidan McArdle played his father, Andy, a hard-working Irish plumber.
Ran for two series between 2008-2009.
