Aidan McArdle stars as Detective Tupolski in a new production of ’The Pillowman’ which premieres at Dublin’s The Gate Theatre tonight

A brand new production of Olivier-winning play 'The Pillowman' opens tonight at Dublin's The Gate Theatre. Written by 'The Banshees of Inisherin' writer Martin McDonagh, it is described as "a savage tale about the stories we tell to keep the monsters at bay".

Aidan McArdle stars as Detective Tupolski, who, alongside fellow detective Ariel, arrests a well known writer of short stories named Katurian (played by Fra Fee), as some of his stories resemble a recent spate of child murders.

Tickets are available now for the play which runs until 7th September.

The Pillowman won the 2004 Olivier Award for Best New Play. This new production is directed by Olivier Award winner Lyndsey Turner.
