Brand new U&Alibi crime drama series 'Bookish' premieres tonight at 8pm. Written by and starring Mark Gatiss the series centres around the erudite and unconventional bookshop owner Gabriel Book (played by Gatiss) who is an amateur sleuth in his spare time.
Tom Forbes guest stars in the first two episodes as "local spiv" Micky Hall, but we'll have to tune in tonight to find out more about his character.
The drama is set in London in 1946 where Gabriel Book uses the thousands of books that line his shelves to help him solve even the most puzzling of crimes. Polly Walker plays his colourful wife Trottie. The couple are in a 'lavender' marriage in order to conceal Book’s sexual orientation in a time when it was illegal to be gay.
The series kicks off tonight at 8pm with a double bill.
