Rising comedy star and Chortle Best Newcomer 2025 nominee Sharon Wanjohi makes her Edinburgh Festival solo debut this week with 'Sharon Wanjohi: In The House'.  The show features in The Guardian's '6 Hot Comedy Debuts at Edinburgh 2025' list.

She also features in Rolling Stone's 'Edinburgh 2025: 12 Rising Stars' list which declares, "There is not a moment when Wanjohi is on stage that you don’t feel completely engaged and fixated with what she has to say and how she says it. Everything is delivered with such exuberance and flair – whether it’s acting out anecdotes, smilingly delivering barbs, going off into surreal tangents or setting the world to rights – she grabs your attention and doesn’t let go."

Although she has appeared at the Festival before, this is her first solo show.  The one-hour show at the Pleasance Courtyard formally opens tonight, Friday 1st August, at 6.55pm, although she performed a couple of preview shows earlier in the week. Buy tickets now for the show which runs until 24th August.

It's a busy week for the London comedian who is the special guest in this week's hilarious episode of hit comedy podcast 'Off Menu' hosted by Ed Gamble and James Acaster. Listen now and watch a clip from the show

Off Menu fans commented:
"So so so so funny! I was almost sick I was laughing so much"
"I was not familiar with your strange game and yet here we are with one of the all-time great episodes"
"My actual face muscles hurt after laughing, the anime date thing has absolutely slayed me. I guess *shrugs and touches neck* I'm kinda a new fan now "
