The Messiah Complex premieres tomorrow night (Tuesday 14th March) and runs until Sunday at London's Vault Festival and stars AK Golding as Sophia. The play is described as a "post-truth fable" which is a "mindbending psychological philosophical thriller".
It looks at a future dystopian world where faith is forbidden and you can't believe in anything that isn't proven. AK Golding plays Sophia, a philosopher revolutionary in a world where dreaming isn't allowed and you are always being watched.
The play is produced by multi Off West End Award nominated company Bag of Beard and has been selected as one of Broadway World’s Top Ten Vault Picks, To Do List London’s Unmissable Shows at Vault and LouReviews Picks of Vault Festival.
In a recent interview with Theatre Weekly AK spoke about her character saying, "I think the content, what my character believes wholeheartedly in, what she has to do for the betterment of the world – the toll is quite high, without any spoilers. The play has quite horrifying elements. But she is extremely fun to play and I love acting opposite Anthony and Sasha, and what Bag of Beard have written is very fun to play. It’s all very schemey and as an actor that is just delicious".
Tickets available now for the 6 night run at Network Theatre, Waterloo.
This is the last week of the Vault Festival which is the UK’s leading independent showcase of live performance and artistic talent; featuring thousands of sensational performances across Theatre, Comedy, & Live Entertainment, made by the most exciting and boldest artists of our time.
