Showtrial and Suspect star Céline Buckens has won Best Drama Short Film at the New Renaissance Film Festival, for her second directorial venture 'The Debt'. The festival, which is a platform for emerging independent filmmakers, took place last week in London, with the film shown at a special screening on Friday.
The Debt stars David Troughton and Romola Garai as a father and daughter whose relationship is falling apart. It’s described as "a gripping family drama with a twist, posing provocative questions about family, money and the limits of unconditional love."
Milo Twomey also has a role as a paramedic in the film.
The film has also been selected as part of the official selection at the Aesthetica Short Film Festival and the North East International Film Festival, both of which are happening in November.
