First look images for the new series of award-winning BBC drama 'Sherwood' have been revealed.
Centre-stage is David Morrissey who returns in the lead role, playing Detective Chief Superintendent Ian St Clair, a role which earned him a National Television Awards Best Actor nomination for Series 1.
The BBC has also announced some new cast members for Series 2, which include Jorden Myrie, in a yet-to-be revealed role.
The first series of Sherwood was one of the most-watched British dramas of 2022, following a murder that shocks a former mining town where divisions still remain years after the miners’ strikes of 1984 and 1985.
The official synopsis for the new series says that it "further explores the powerful themes that made the first so resonant to audiences across the UK". Continuing, "Set in the present day, it introduces two new families that find themselves entangled with the Sparrows, entering a complex web of local gangs, old rivalries, revenge and betrayal".
Lesley Manville and Lorraine Ashburn also return, alongside other new cast members including Monica Dolan, Robert Lindsay and David Harewood. The series will be released later this year.
David Morrissey and Jorden Myrie are available for voiceovers from Anthea Represents. Click their images for their profile pages and voiceover showreels.
