Doctor Who star Sacha Dhawan, who played the Doctor's arch nemesis 'The Master' in series 12 and the recent feature length centenary episode, has delighted fans by posting a video of himself with actress Michelle Gomez who played the 'Mistress' (AKA Missy), another of Doctor Who's nemeses in series 8.
The pair are seen descending a flight of stairs in a slo-mo video which appears on both Dhawan and Gomez's Instagram feeds.
No reason for the video was given, but it has delighted fans who are speculating about a return for both characters and the possibility of them meeting in a future episode. Among them was former Who showrunner Steven Moffat, who left a comment on Dhawan's post that read: "Put ‘em on screen, Russell!"
Previously Dhawan has said he would "love" to face off against the 14th Doctor, played by Ncuti Gatwa who likewise identified The Master as the villain he would most like to meet in the new series, saying at the 2022 BAFTAs: "Maybe the Master? The Master, I think." Interestingly Russell T. Davies interjected: "Or the Missy. The Master can be female as well."
The new series of Doctor Who, featuring the 14th Doctor, will be out later this year.
