Gemma Whelan stars as Prudence Glynn, the persistent fashion editor of The Times in 'Cristóbal Balenciaga', a new 6-part drama series which is released today on Disney+.
The series documents the life of the iconic Spanish fashion designer and is based on the conversations between Glynn and Balenciaga during an interview in the 1970s. Prudence Glynn's interview was the only one the notoriously publicity-shy designer ever gave in his 50 year career. The series spans 5 decades as he confides in her, recounting his 30 years in Paris, which began in 1937 when he arrived after fleeing the Spanish civil war to join the exclusive world of French haute couture.
