Hit ITV crime drama 'DI Ray' makes its long-awaited return to our TV screens tonight, Sunday 20th October at 9pm. The series continues on Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd, with the final 3 episodes airing across Sunday 27th, Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th October.
The 6-part series sees Gemma Whelan back as DI Ray's supervisor DCI Kerry Henderson and also sees Dinita Gohil join the cast as Amara Choudhry, a counsellor running for Mayor.
The new series sees the team investigating a homicide after a fatal drive-by shooting outside a Birmingham hospital. The official synopsis reads "The violent crime leaves two dead: a young nurse, Megan Parks, and the head of a notorious local crime syndicate, Frank Chapman. DI Ray is in race against time uncover the truth before the Chapman family act out their revenge and an all-out gang war erupts onto the streets."
Gemma said of her character "In Kerry’s view, everyone else has worked their way up through the ranks and earned their place in the team, whereas Rachita has had a 'have a go hero' moment, as Kerry sees it, and hasn’t earned her job title. And so, for Kerry, Rachita has got to prove herself, she's got no time for her initially and gives her a hard time."
