Dinita Gohil is a British Asian actor, originally from Birmingham, with a wealth of popular TV credits to her name.  These include starring in the second series of ITV's hit crime drama 'DI Ray' in 2024, playing Amara Choudhry, a counsellor who is running for mayor.  She is also known for her role as Fate Maiden in the BAFTA nominated fantasy drama series ‘The Sandman’, for Netflix, which returns for a second series in 2025. 

2024 also saw her in Paramount+ romantic comedy series 'The Road Trip', playing bride-to-be Cherry, whose friends embark on a road trip to Spain for her wedding. 

In 2023 she guest starred in two episodes of ‘Silent Witness’, playing Bela Nasir, a persistent journalist who is determined to find the truth in the 2-parter ‘Hearts of Darkness’.   Later in 2023 she starred on stage at Hammersmith's Lyric Theatre in a new production of the Olivier and Tony Award-winning play 'God of Carnage', playing Annette, one of the mothers caught up in an explosive argument defending the actions of her 11-year old son. 

In 2022 she played Zoe in Netflix action thriller series ‘Treason’, and also starred in the popular ITV thriller series ‘Our House’.  She played Lucy Vaughan who, along with her husband, inadvertently bought the house belonging to Tuppence Middleton’s character Fi. The show also starred Martin Compston and Rupert Penry-Jones. 

Other TV credits include roles in the critically acclaimed BBC Two drama ‘MotherFatherSon’,  Amazon Original comedy drama series ‘Flack’ and Series 2 of the BBC One action drama series ‘Our Girl’.  She had a recurring role as Sami Gilani in the Channel 5 prison drama 'Clink' as well as a major part in the Emmy-nominated National Geographic docu-drama ‘Year Million’ which looked into a future where technology has taken over the world. 

In 2019 she played a pivotal role in the satirical drama film ‘Greed’ which starred Steve Coogan and David Mitchell and centred around the life of a billionaire high-street fashion mogul.  She played his personal assistant Amanda who has a crisis of conscience with far-reaching consequences.  Other film credits include the BBC Two BAFTA nominated one-off drama ‘The Boy with the TopKnot’, 2016 feature film ‘The Infiltrator’, crime thriller ‘The Snowman’ and satirical comedy ‘Kill Your Friends’.  

Theatre credits include ‘The Father and the Assassin’ at the National Theatre in 2022 as well as starring as Viola in the critically acclaimed 2017 RSC production of ‘Twelfth Night’, directed by Christopher Luscombe and also starring Adrian Edmondson.  The play was also made into a feature film with RSC Live. She also appeared in the 2017-2018 RSC production of ‘A Christmas Carol’. 

She has audiobook experience, including narrating Salman Rushdie’s Victory City for BBC Radio Four in 2023 - a role which earned her a Best Actress Award in the 2024 BBC Audio Drama Awards. She is due to feature in ‘The Glassworker’ Pakistan's first hand-drawn animation feature film, also due for release in 2023. 

Dinita naturally speaks with a neutral accent with a subtle West Midlands lilt, but she can neutralise easily and mostly performs in neutral and RP accents. She can strengthen her Birmingham accent easily as she used to have one. She is fluent in Gujarati and can speak conversational French and Spanish.
