First broadcast on BBC One in 2009 this much loved and long running series has broadcast 65 episodes in total, each one telling the story of a different character who is going through a pivotal moment in their life. The show is created and produced by Jimmy McGovern as his first project for daytime television. Series 12 was the final series which aired in 2021. A plethora of top British acting talent has appeared in the series including Emma Lowndes, Robert James-Collier, Amy Nuttall and Samatha Bond.
Amy James-Kelly, Faye McKeever and Dinita Gohil have all appeared in an episode of the show. Amy played Emma, a registrar in series 9. Dinita played Sarah and Faye played Sue in series 10.
