The first episode of The Larkins aired earlier this month and is based on the H.E. Bates novel The Darling Buds of May. Geoff McGivern has a guest role in episode 4 as Stationmaster Fox. The episode airs on Sunday 31st October at 8pm on ITV1 and is also available on ITV Hub. The series follows good-hearted Pop and Ma Larkin, who live in Kent with their 6 children and are often getting into scrapes with authority.
This adaptation is written by Simon Nye (The Durrells, Finding Alice), “with the aim of capturing the warmth, optimism and escapism of The Larkin family for a modern generation”. The series consists of 6 episodes in total.
