Sister Boniface returns with a 2-hour Christmas special on Friday evening, 20th December, at 8pm.
It sees the return of all the main cast, including Jerry Iwu who is back as DI Felix Livingstone, who is unimpressed at drawing the short straw playing the back of the pantomime horse in the Great Slaughter Amateur Dramatics Society (GSADS) Christmas production of Cinderella. However things take an unexpected twist when two cast members are murdered during rehearsals.
The official synopsis reads "Can Sister Boniface catch the killer before they strike again? Will GSADS give the public the festive theatrical treat they deserve? And, most importantly, can Sam and Felix pull off a polka in a pantomime horse?"
In a recent interview Jerry revealed that he had to do a gravity-defying stunt "I had to do a stunt which was terrifying. I was dangling in mid-air, but it was done extremely safely so I knew I was never going to fall."
He went on to say, "Christmas is generally a time when families get together and look for shows to watch, so it feels super-special to be part of the festivities and to give the fans a little something while waiting for the next series."
We will have to wait a little longer for the release of the fourth series of the show, which is scheduled for mid-2025.
The special will also guest star Les Dennis and The Larkins Katherine Kingsley.
Sister Boniface Mysteries Christmas Special 2024: Once Upon a Time will premiere in the UK on U & Drama at 8pm on Friday 20th December. It will also be released on Britbox in the US on Tuesday 17th December.
