Jessye Romeo stars in the title role in 'Robyn Hood' - a new TV series which re-imagines the legendary hero for the age we live in. The show will premiere on Canadian channels Global TV and Stack TV on 27th September.
The first trailer for the action packed fun adventure series has just been released.
Jessye plays Robyn Loxley, a young Black woman from the working class corner of New Nottingham, "Sherwood Towers", whose masked band “The Hood” is known for their inventive videos and anti-authoritarian message. As the cost of living skyrockets, there is leaving an ever-widening gap between the rich and everyone else. When Robyn finds herself fighting for her home and her family against local property developer John Prince and The Sheriff of New Nottingham, Robyn and her band The Hood decide to take the law into their own hands.
