John Simm has been announced as the lead in brand new Alibi murder mystery series 'I Jack Wright' which has just started filming.
He plays Gray Wright, the son of powerful businessman Jack Wright who leaves his family in disarray when they learn of his suicide. Both Gray and Jack's wife Sally are shocked when they discover they have been largely cut out of inheriting Jack's huge fortune. As the family starts to feud and fall apart and the police start to investigate further it becomes apparent that Jack's death was in fact murder.
The official synopsis describes it as "a propulsive, darkly comic and moving murder mystery family drama which offers many twists and turns as one family deals with treachery and hidden agendas from all involved".
Zoë Tapper has also recently been revealed as joining the cast but her role has not yet been announced. This is her second role working closely with John as they star together on ITV drama series 'Grace', with a 4th season out very soon.
The impressive cast also includes Trevor Eve, Rakhee Thakrar and Gemma Jones.
'I Jack Wright' is written by Chris Lang (Unforgotten, The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe) and is due out in 2025.
