Home I'm Darling is written by Laura Wade and was first staged in London in 2018, going on to win 'Best New Comedy' at the Olivier Awards. This new production premieres tonight, Friday 18th March at the Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds and will run until Saturday 2nd April.
The play is a 21st century satirical social comedy about Judy and Johnny, a couple who decide to live their lives as if in the 1950s, embracing jive dancing and pastel kitchenware as well as outdated gender stereotypes. Judy even quits her job to become a housewife who spends her days cleaning and cooking.
Kerry Bennett plays Johnny's new boss, the young, attractive Alex, who is invited round for 1950s style cocktails in their quest to make a good first impression.
