The Promise is a brand new play written by the co-creator of BBC's Casualty Paul Unwin. It has been described as a "fascinating, deeply pertinent" portrayal of post-war Britain and the Labour landslide victory of 1945 which saw Clement Attlee's government launch the National Health Service.
Richard Harrington stars as 'visionary firebrand', Welsh MP Nye Bevan who spearheaded the NHS, in a "fine performance...capturing the impatience of the true radical" - MSN
His performance was also singled out by Broadway World, "In Harrington’s version of Bevan, we see the human behind the politician; passion, humour and determination make him an engaging figure".
The play is on at Chichester's Festival Theatre until Saturday 17th August. Last few tickets available now.
