Maimie McCoy's new film 'The Performance' had its premiere at the Rome Film Festival on Saturday.
The film in set in 1937 and stars Jeremy Piven as Jewish American Harold May, a gifted tap dancer, whose career has recently taken a nosedive, and he feels he is past his prime. While on tour in Europe, Harold and the rest of his troupe are scouted by a German attaché (Robert Carlyle), who doesn't realise Harold is a Jew. He offers the dancers an irresistible sum of money for a single performance in Berlin. Little do they know, the show is for Adolf Hitler.
The film is based on a short story from legendary playwright Arthur Miller and directed by Shira Piven.
Maimie plays Harold's old flame, Carol, who is on tour with him.
The premiere took place on Saturday 28th October at the 18th Rome Film Festival at Auditorium Parco Della Musica.
