Mara Huf is getting rave reviews for her performance in the West End's brand new production of 'The Tempest'. She plays Prospero's teenage daughter Miranda in the play which stars Sigourney Weaver as Prospero and Matthew Horne as Trinculo.
The adaptation of Shakespeare's enchanting story of revenge and forgiveness opened in December at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane and runs until 1st February. It is directed by superstar director Jamie Lloyd.
Despite some mixed reviews on the production, Mara's performance, in particular the love story between Miranda and Ferdinand, has been singled out by many reviewers -
"Newcomer Mara Huf is terrific as a growling voiced, sarcastic Miranda, turning many of Prospero’s daughter’s ditsiest lines on their heads" - Time Out
"Mara Huf and James Phoon have a captivating dynamic as their love story unfolds in their roles of Miranda and Ferdinand respectively." - All That Dazzles
"Miranda (an impressive Mara Huf) looks like a castaway from Dune." - What's On Stage
"Mara Huf gives Miranda a sour, snarky energy, clashing with Prospero with all the built-up antagonism you would expect from a teenager trapped on a deserted island with their overbearing mother" - The Stage
"Mara Huf as Miranda is perfect" - Theatre and Tonic
