Netflix's inspirational new football film 'The Beautiful Game' is released tomorrow, Friday 29th March. Although a fictional story it is based around the true story of the Homeless World Cup.
The film stars Micheal Ward as Vinny, a struggling father and talented young footballer, estranged from his daughter and her mother, who refuses to see himself as homeless, despite living in his car.
Bill Nighy also stars as football coach Mal who mentors Vinny, determined to see him succeed.
In early reviews Screen Rant praised Ward & Nighy's "standout" on-screen chemistry saying, "Ward and Bill Nighy's understated performances create a fascinating dynamic that feels quite new for a sports movie."
The film also stars Susan Wokoma as South African coach Protasia and Callum Scott Howells as Vinny's room-mate, ex-heroin addict Nathan. Many former Homeless World Cup players also appear, emphasizing the positive impact that the competition has had on their lives.
Micheal Ward is available for voiceovers from Anthea Represents. Click his image for his profile page and voiceover showreel.
