Nathan Foad's semi-autobiographical comedy series 'Newark Newark' starts on BBC Two tonight, Tuesday 5th March, at 10pm and will also be available in full on BBC iPlayer.
The series was originally commissioned by and shown on Gold.
The 3-part sitcom is set in Nathan's home town of Newark and captures some of the ridiculous things that go on in a small town, centred around a chip shop manager and her family. It stars Morgana Robinson as newly-divorced Maxine and Matthew Horne as her desperate ex Terry.
At the same time, the couple's son Leslie (Jai Hollis) has to deal with the underwhelming response to his coming out, while there is a backdrop of constant interference from the family's grandmother (Coronation Street's Beverley Callard).
As well as writing the series, Nathan also appears in a supporting role playing roller disco manager Rowan.
In a recent interview about the series, Nathan said that assembling the all-star cast was a "dream come true. People really responded to the script. That helped us clinch the bigger names. It was so amazing to watch that come together."
Watch the trailer and tune in tonight at 10pm for the first episode or watch now on BBC iPlayer.
