Experimental play 'White Rabbit Red Rabbit' sees Omari Douglas take to the helm tonight, Monday 14th October. The acclaimed play sees a different actor performing every night during the limited run at @Soho Place in London. There are no rehearsals and no director...the actor walks on stage to find only the script waiting in a sealed envelope .
The official synopsis for the play reads "Forbidden to leave his country, playwright Nassim Soleimanpour distilled the experience of an entire generation in a wild, utterly original play. White Rabbit Red Rabbit is as much about contemporary Iran as it is about power dynamics in the rest of the world." But with a different actor for each performance, every show is very different depending on how the author’s words compel each actor to perform.
The play is showing for a limited season until 9th November. Actors who have already performed include Nick Mohammed, Michael Sheen, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Keith Allen, with an incredible line-up still to come including Alan Davies, Minnie Driver, Stephen Merchant and Sir Lenny Henry.
Since its joint premiere in 2011 in Edinburgh and SummerWorks festival, White Rabbit Red Rabbit has been translated into more than 30 different languages and been performed over 3,000 times by some of the biggest names in theatre and film.
