Omari Douglas is stage and screen actor who has starred in a number of critically acclaimed West End shows as well as hit TV shows such as 'It’s A Sin' and 'I Hate Suzie Too'.

He received a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the 2022 BAFTAs for his role in Russell T. Davies’ critically acclaimed smash hit series ‘It’s A Sin’ for Channel 4. He starred as one of the leads, Roscoe Babatunde, in the BAFTA nominated show which also won two RTS Awards. He played series regular Holland Fitz-Henry in Sky's BAFTA nominated ‘I Hate Suzie Too’, opposite Billie Piper.

In late 2024 he had a major role in Netflix's "darkly festive" spy thriller 'Black Doves', playing Michael, the long term partner to Ben Whishaw's character.  The 6-part series also starred Keira Knightley and Sarah Lancashire.

Also in 2024 he played Mo in British rom-com ‘And Mrs’, described as "the perfect tear-jerker comedy" which starred Aisling Bea as Gemma, who launches a nation-dividing legal battle to marry her recently deceased fiancé.  He also had a major role in the Prime Video biopic 'Midas Man' which told the life story of the man behind The Beatles, Brian Epstein, playing Epstein's friend Lonnie Trimble.

In 2023 he had roles in the Russell T. Davies, ITV mini-series ‘Nolly’, as well as the romantic comedy film ‘Rye Lane’ which premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival prior to its theatrical release, and is also available on Disney+.

He is an acclaimed stage actor, nominated for an Olivier Award for Best Actor, as well as a WhatsOnStage award for Best Male Performer for his 2021 performance opposite Russell Tovey in ‘Constellations’ at the Vaudeville Theatre. The play won Best Revival at the 2022 Olivier Awards.  In 2024 he was one of an esteemed group of actors (alongside Michael Sheen, Daisy Edgar-Jones & Sir Lenny Henry to name a few) who performed in the @SohoPlace production of 'White Rabbit Red Rabbit'. The experimental play sees a different actor performing each night, with no rehearsal, no director and the script waiting in a sealed envelope on the stage.

He played Clifford Bradshaw, one of the leading roles in the 2021 hit West End show ‘Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club’, appearing opposite Eddie Redmayne and Jessie Buckley.  The show triumphed at the 2022 Olivier Awards winning 7 awards including Best Musical Revival.

In 2023 he starred as struggling artist JB at London’s Harold Pinter Theatre in ‘A Little Life’, the acclaimed theatrical adaptation of the million-copy bestseller by Hanya Yanagihara, which also starred James Norton. An unprecedented demand for tickets led to the play running for an additional 5 weeks at the Savoy Theatre across the summer in 2023. The play was nominated for Best New Play at the 2024 WhatsOnStage Awards.

Other theatre credits include ‘Rush’ at the King’s Head Theatre, ‘Peter Pan’ and ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ at the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, Clarke Peters’ ‘Five Guys Named Moe’ at the Marble Arch Theatre, Kneehigh’s ‘Tristan & Yseult’ at Shakespeare’s Globe, ‘The Life’ at the Southwark Playhouse, ‘Annie Get Your Gun’ at the Sheffield Crucible, the 2015 UK tour of ‘Hairspray’ and ‘High Society’ at the Old Vic.  He also starred as ‘Showgirl Nora’ in Emma Rice’s 2018 celebrated Old Vic production of ‘Wise Children’ which went on to tour the UK to rave reviews.

Omari has a neutral accent, verging on RP at times, with also the occasional flat vowel which is a nod to growing up in Wolverhampton. He can strengthen his Wolverhampton accent easily on request. He is highly skilled in an American accent through his years on stage.
