Richard Harrington plays dirty police officer Jake in ‘Havoc’, the long-awaited new Tom Hardy film which is available on Netflix from today

Tom Hardy's latest action thriller 'Havoc' is released today, Friday 25th April, on Netflix.  The film, which was produced in Wales, sees him playing Walker, a weary detective who has to fight his way through the criminal underworld and outmanoeuvre some dirty cops after a drug heist goes wrong, to save the son of a crooked politician (played by Forest Whitaker).

Richard Harrington has a major role in the film as Jake, also a detective, but part of the gang working with corrupt cop Vincent (played by Timothy Olyphant) who seek to de-rail Walker's mission.

The film is directed by Welsh director Gareth Evans, best known for gangster film The Raid and the first season of thriller series Gangs of London.

According to Netflix and Creative Wales, Havoc is the largest feature film ever to be shot entirely in Wales.

Judging by early reviews, Havoc is going to be a hard act to follow for upcoming action film releases this year, with Digital Spy declaring "Good luck to any other action movie released this year as it's a strong possibility that Havoc has already delivered the best action sequences of 2025".
