Richard Harrington stars as forensic scientist Dr Colin Dark in new BBC One crime drama 'Steeltown Murders' which starts tonight on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
His character is part of 'Operation Magnum' - a team working on the reopening of a cold case involving the disappearance of 3 women in Swansea in the 1970s. The three young women – Sandra Newton, Pauline Floyd and Geraldine Hughes – were murdered in 1973, leaving the county of Neath Port Talbot shaken to its very core. The investigation into the unsolved murders was re-opened 30 years later, after advances in DNA technology brought new suspects to the fore.
Dr Colin Dark's forensic investigations reveal that they are dealing with a serial killer, and he becomes determined to seek justice for the victims using the pioneering techniques.
The series also stars Philip Glenister and Steffan Rhodri as the two lead detectives in the new investigation, both of whom were young detectives involved in the original investigation into the disappearances in 1973.
The 4-part drama begins tonight, Monday 15th May, at 9pm on BBC One, and will also be available on BBC iPlayer. Watch the trailer.
