See Aidan McArdle as part of a stellar cast in the much anticipated, new-look ‘Bergerac’ which returns to our screens this week

Legendary TV detective Jim Bergerac returns to our screens this week in a brand new, re-booted version of 'Bergerac' which premieres on U&Drama on Thursday 27th February.

The 6-episode series boasts a stellar cast that sees Damien Moloney starring as Bergerac, alongside Zoë Wanamaker as his mother-in-law Charlie, Pippa Haywood and Philip Glenister.  Aidan McArdle also has a major role playing Bergerac's shrink, Pete Benedict.

Unlike the original, which followed a different case every week, this series revolves around one investigation across all six episodes. In the first episode, Bergerac returns to work after being on compassionate leave following the death of his wife.  But he's using drink to cope, which has caused a rift between him and his daughter.  The official synopsis reads: "When a member of one of Jersey's wealthiest families is murdered, Chief of Police Uma Dalal wants their best detective on the case.  Bergerac returns to work to help him become the formidable detective he once was, whilst also trying to prove to his daughter Kim and mother-in-law Charlie Hungerford that his life is back on track."

Stream the full series on U&Drama from Thursday 27th February - available online, via the U app, Freeview, Sky and most Smart TVs.
