David Morrissey stars in the line-up for this year's Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer which begins this Sunday 19th March at 7.45pm on Channel 4.
Other celebrities taking part include Friends star David Schwimmer, Little Mix's Jesy Nelson, champion diver Tom Daley and paralympian Strictly star Ellie Taylor.
In total, the show will run for five episodes at the same time each week – with four contestants competing in each as they look to follow in the footsteps of last year's winners Emma Willis, Gareth Malone, Example, Ben Miller and Ellie Goulding.
In a recent Q&A with Channel 4, David Morrissey described his baking style as "haphazard". When asked what he was most nervous about he said, "Cooking while being filmed and having to chat as well. Timing is everything and I was really worried I’d forget where I was in the process and also forget how long something was in the oven etc. I was also worried I’d swear during it as well. I can often shout the odd bad word when something goes wrong."
He also talked about why Stand Up to Cancer is important to him saying, "I don’t think there will be anyone in this country who has not had someone in their life affected by cancer. Being able to have some fun and also raise awareness and funds for a good cause was such a wonderful thing to be able to do."
The show will be fronted as usual by Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas, with judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith. Despite his initial nerves about facing Paul and Prue, David said "Ithey couldn’t have been lovelier, likewise Matt and Noel. They really made you feel welcome, and I can tell from all the crew on the show that it’s a great gig to work on… well… I guess the doggie bags at the end of eat filming day are pretty special."
