A brand new London production of cult classic musical 'The Baker's Wife' premieres tomorrow night, 6th July, at Southwark's Menier Chocolate Factory for a limited 10 week run.
Sutara Gayle will star as village spinster Therese in the show set in a French village which is turned upside down with the arrival of a new baker and his much younger wife.
Legendary Broadway director Gordon Greenberg directs. He and Sutara previously worked together on the 2015 West End production of Guys and Dolls, in which she played General Cartwright. "Oh what a joy to be reunited with this Broadway giant" she said when announcing her role on Instagram in May.
The Baker's Wife is based on the book by Joseph Stein (writer of Fiddler on the Roof) with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (composer of Wicked). The production will also star Lucie Jones as Genevieve the Baker's Wife with Clive Rowe playing Aimable the Baker.
