North East actress and comedian Sammy T. Dobson is joining the cast of the BBC's long running medical drama 'Casualty'. She is to play new junior doctor Nicole Piper.
Her role was announced yesterday when she said "Joining Casualty has felt like a dream. To become a piece of such a well-regarded part of BBC history is incredible, but to get there and find everyone to be so genuinely lovely, welcoming, and committed to making the best show possible is just wonderful."
The BBC also revealed that there will be two more new characters joining the Emergency Department, another junior doctor and a new clinical lead.
Sammy's first episode is due to air on Saturday 30th March.
