The BBC's new thriller series 'Crossfire' is due for release this autumn. The 3-part series is set in a luxury hotel resort in the Canary Islands and documents the terrifying events that unfold when a gunman starts shooting at guests. The BBC has just released the first trailer for the nail-biting new series, from the creators of 'The Salisbury Poisonings' and 'The Responder'.
The series stars Keeley Hawes as Jo who is holidaying at the resort with two other families, including Daniel Ryan's character Ben, a paramedic, who is married to a doctor, Miriam. On the first day of their holiday the friends are caught up in the horror of a gunman who begins a random shooting spree. Jo and her friends end up at the centre of the action as the drama unfolds around them.
The story explores how this terrifying event affects these individuals, how they cope during their attempt to save themselves and each other, and the aftermath.
The show is the TV writing debut for Apple Tree Yard author Louise Doughty who has admitted she has a fascination with "how so-called ordinary people respond to intense pressure". The BBC has described the thriller as "a story of survival and resilience, Crossfire is an edge-of-your-seat nail-biting thriller yet also emotional, intimate and relatable".
The Bay and Home Fires actor Daniel Ryan is available for voiceovers from Anthea Represents. Click his image for his profile page and voiceover showreel.
