The new season of House of the Dragon premieres today on Sky Atlantic with Kieran Bew starring as new character Hugh Hammer

The first episode of the hotly anticipated second season of House of the Dragon is available to stream from today on Sky and NOW, with a broadcast time of 9pm tonight on Sky Atlantic.

The episode will see Kieran Bew make his debut as blacksmith Hugh Hammer who will go on to have a major role in the series. We see him beseech the new King Aegon, who is now on the Iron Throne, for an advance on the crown’s coin in order to pay for increased iron costs.  Aegon agrees as he acknowledges the need for the smiths’ swords and weapons in the upcoming war, with Hugh thanking him before departing.

The series will reveal that Hugh is the son of a blacksmith and has some illegitimate Targaryen ancestry.  He will be amongst a small group of “dragonseeds” who successfully bond with a dragon, ultimately claiming the dragon Vermithor.  He then begins his dragonriding fame as a member of Team Black, fighting for Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen's army.

New episodes will be released weekly every Monday.  Watch the trailer.
