'Shifters' is to transfer to the West End's Duke of York Theatre from mid-August. The romantic play has been a huge sell-out hit this Spring at the Bush Theatre. It stars Tosin Cole as the "superb" (The Telegraph) male lead, Dre, opposite Heather Agyepong as Des, who met and fell in love as teenagers, but parted ways when Des left to pursue her art career. Destiny brings them together again years later, aged 32, when Dre's beloved nana dies, as we see their tale of long-lost first love unfold.
The play has been a huge sell-out success with outstanding reviews from critics -
"So good...laugh-out-loud funny and tears-to-the-eyes moving" - ★★★★ - The Times
"Smouldering and soulful...Tosin Cole and Heather Agyepong are entirely adorable and subtle as the couple" - ★★★★ - Time Out
"Forget One Day, this is pretty much the perfect bittersweet rom-com" - ★★★★ - The Evening Standard
"The acting is excellent, with Agyepong’s anger and Cole’s nonchalance, her provocative intelligence and his flirty charm, combining in moments when each can be vulnerable as well as evasive" - ★★★★ - The Arts Desk
It is written by Black British Theatre Award winner Benedict Lombe (Lava).
Tickets are on sale now for its West End run from 12th August until 12th October.
Tosin Cole also leads brand new Netflix series 'Supacell" which is out later this week. He is available for voiceovers from Anthea Represents. Click his image for his profile page and voiceover showreel.
