BBC One will broadcast the final adventure for Jodie Whittaker's thirteenth doctor in 'Doctor Who: The Power of the Doctor' this Sunday night at 7.30pm. The epic feature length episode is part of the BBC's centenary celebrations which is billed as "Her final battle. Her deadliest enemies. The Thirteenth Doctor faces multiple threats from Daleks, Cybermen and the Master in a fight for her very existence."
Sacha Dhawan stars opposite her as long term nemesis 'The Master' who returns one last time with his evil plan to wipe the Doctor from history, but the BBC has revealed very little about what that plan is. In the trailer it appears that he has disguised himself as infamous Russian villan Rasputin to try and ambush the doctor.
In a recent interview Sacha talked about the performance saying "I’m really b****y proud of it, actually!” When asked who he was channelling for his particularly evil portrayal of the Master, he quipped: “You don’t want to know!”. He also talked about the many different incantations of the Master and the fun he's had playing with the character, saying "One of the early ideas I had about playing the character was that I didn’t ever want to use prosthetics. It’s what makes The Master such fun to play, because I get to sink my teeth into so many different characters, and the onus is on me to make them believable and interesting. It also keeps the audience on their toes too, because I never wanted them to feel settled with my incarnation".
Meanwhile Jodie Whittaker has paid tribute to Sacha's professionalism on set saying, “He’s ace...he’s so brilliant and such a team player."
See Sacha as 'The Master' in the trailer and be sure to tune in to the historic finale on Sunday night at 7.30pm on BBC One.
