Zoë Tapper to star in new BBC drama Rules of the Game premiering on BBC One tomorrow night

Zoë Tapper stars as Vanessa Jenkins in the new 4-part thought-provoking thriller series which was inspired by the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse scandal and the #MeToo campaign. The first episode will be shown on BBC One at 9pm on Tuesday 11th January with all episodes available on BBC iPlayer.

The show revolves around a family-run sportswear company in the North of England which is littered with buried secrets.  Maxine Peake stars as the company's boss who clashes with the new HR Director, played by Rakhee Thakrar, when she tries to shake up the lad culture in the workplace.  The story takes a frightening twist when a dead body is found in the company’s reception area.

Zoë's character Vanessa is married to Owen Jenkins (played by Ben Batt), the son of the company's founder.  She is glamorous and enjoys being a lady of leisure but her life revolves around her appearance. Her viciousness stems from deep insecurity but she blocks this out by projecting absolute certainty and supreme confidence.

The show's creator Ruth Fowler says "The politics of being a woman in a man’s world had never really interested us until Harvey Weinstein went down for it, and then suddenly everyone wanted to know the gory details."
