Multiple IFTA nominated Irish actress Gemma-Leah Devereux is best known for her role in the Oscar, BAFTA and Golden Globe winning Judy Garland biopic ‘Judy’ in which she played Judy's daughter, Liza Minnelli, opposite Renee Zellwegger in the title role. 

She has had roles in a number of feature films, including playing the lead role in ‘The Bright Side’, starring as stand-up comedian Kate who is diagnosed with breast cancer.  The performance earned her a Best Actress nomination at the Irish Film and Television Awards (IFTAs) in 2022 with the film winning a number of awards on the independent film circuit. 

This was her second IFTA nomination.  A few years previously she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for playing Lola in the Irish Indie Film ‘Get Up and Go’. 

Other film credits include the critically acclaimed IFTA winning ‘Cardboard Gangsters’, IFTA nominated and Dublin International Film Festival winning ‘Broken Law’ and the feature length docu-drama ‘Citizen Lane’ opposite Michael Gambon.  She also played the lead in the dark thriller ‘Dartmoor Killing’, opposite David Hayman, which won the Grand Jury Award for Best Screenplay at the Tulsa International Film Festival. 

Recently she starred as Anna Aherne in the Irish thriller series ‘Smother’ for RTE, playing the daughter of Dervla Kirwan’s character.  The show ran for 3 seasons and in 2023 earned Gemma-Leah her third IFTA nomination, this time for Best Supporting Actress.  

Other TV credits include playing Hanna in the IFTA nominated period drama series ‘Dead Still’; playing series regular, student nurse Aoife in Casualty; and playing Lady Elizabeth Fitzgerald in the fourth series of the Showtime/BBC Emmy winning historical fiction series ‘The Tudors’ which starred Jonathan Rhys-Meyers and Henry Cavill.  

Gemma-Leah is from Dublin and speaks with a naturally Southern Irish/Dublin accent.  She is highly skilled with accents including most regional specific Irish accents, Northern Irish, RP and American.
