Lydia Rose Bewley is best known for her many comedy roles across TV and film, most prominently her role as Jay’s love interest Jane in both ‘The InBetweeners’ films.
Recently she starred in the 2022 Netflix film adaptation of Jane Austen’s ‘Persuasion’ playing Penelope Clay, a close friend of the Elliot family. The series also starred Richard E. Grant and Dakota Johnson.
Major TV roles include playing Metella in series 1 & 2 of the ITV2 award-winning comedy ‘Plebs’, set in Ancient Rome. The series won Best New Comedy Series at the British Comedy Awards as well as Best Scripted Comedy at the Royal Television Society Awards. She then played Bunny, one of the leads, in E4 sitcom ‘Drifters’ as well as Princess Penelope in Series 1 and 2 of fictional drama ‘The Royals’ on E! More recently she starred as Jess in Series 2 of ‘I Live With Models’ on Comedy Central and as Susie in BBC Three comedy 'Dreaming Whilst Black'.
Other TV credits include Comedy Central’s ‘Drunk History: UK’ in which she has appeared a number of times, including as one of the storytellers and BBC Three comedy series ‘Oi Pussy’ about a straight-talking roadman cat from South East London.
Away from comedy, she had a major role playing lab technician Vicky Wilson in the award winning ITV/World Productions police drama ‘Code of a Killer’ which told the true story of the discovery of DNA profiling during a double murder investigation. The series also starred John Simm, Robert Glenister and David Threlfall.
Lydia is originally from the Midlands and has a Neutral accent with an occasional hint of Northern. She can also provide a genuine Northern accent, and can naturally slip into a London or RP accent easily if required.
